Shoppers got an unpleasant surprise Tuesday night when they had to evacuate a Target in Woodstock due to a bomb threat.

The threat was called in to the store on Ga. 92, police said.

As a precautionary measure, everyone inside the store was evacuated and authorities used police dogs from Woodstock and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office to sweep the store, Woodstock police spokeswoman Brittany Duncan said.

No bomb was found and the scene was cleared, she said. Target reopened after about two hours.

The investigation is continuing.
