Woodstock Police plan a number of road closings and restrictions for the city’s Independence Day events.

Officials said Main Street/Rope Mill Road will be closed from Ga. 92 to Woodstock Elementary School for the 7:30 a.m. Freedom Run Race. That stretch reopens at approximately 9 a.m., then will close again at 9:45 a.m. for the parade starting at 10. Reopening is slated for around 11:30 a.m.

A festival at The Park At City Center following the parade will last until 3 p.m. Several downtown street stretches will see restrictions.

Fireworks begin at sunset at Woodstock Square Avenue near I-575 and Ga. 92, with heavy traffic expected. Afterward, all vehicles parked north of Ga.92 will be directed to turn right on 92 and head west. All traffic south of the state highway will turn right and travel east. Left and U-turns on Ga. 92 will be banned during and shortly after the show.
