Woodstock OKs veterans’ bike ride fund raiser

The Woodstock City Council has approved the Supporting Our Military Heroes Ride, to begin and end in the city on Saturday, Oct. 27.

The 61.7-mile motorcycle ride around Cherokee County is a fund raiser to benefit three veterans organizations: the Cherokee Veterans Community, Cherokee County Homeless Veterans Program, and United Military Care, according to the CVC.

About 250 attendees are expected for the event, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will begin and end at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, 11905 Highway 92, according to the event's Facebook page.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will provide escorts for the riders. Woodstock police will help direct the riders out of the church parking lot in the morning and return to the lot in the afternoon.
