The Woodstock City Council has approved requests to close Main Street and Rope Mill Road for holiday events in July and December.

The streets will be closed through the downtown area from Woodstock Elementary School, 230 Rope Mill, to the Sam’s Club at Ga. 92. The closures are scheduled from 7 to 8:45 a.m., July 4, for the Woodstock Freedom Run, and at 9:45 a.m. for the July 4th Parade; and at 5:15 p.m., Dec. 5, for the Christmas Jubilee Parade of Lights.

“The roads will reopen once all pedestrian and parade traffic has been cleared and all street cleaning and equipment removal is complete,” according to a staff report to the council. East Main Street in front of the park also will be closed for the two festivals.
