The Woodstock City Council has approved requests to close portions of Main Street and Rope Mill Road for upcoming parades, festivals and runs.

Rope Mill and Main Street from Woodstock Elementary School, 230 Rope Mill, to the Sam’s Club at Main and Ga. 92 will be closed from 7 to 8:30 a.m., July 4, for the Woodstock Freedom Run, and again at 9:45 a.m. for the July 4th Parade.

The same stretch of road will be closed at 4:45 p.m., Dec. 1, for the Egg Nog Jog, and remain closed for the Christmas Jubilee Parade of Lights, which steps off at 5:30 p.m.

Main Street in front of Woodstock City Park also will be closed for the two festivals.

“The roads will reopen once all pedestrian and parade traffic has been cleared and all street cleaning and equipment removal is completed,” staff said in a report to the council.
