The city of Woodstock has a new community development director. City Manager Jeff Moon chose Brantley Day from a field of 26 applicants to fill the vacancy created in May when Jessica Guinn left to become assistant city manager of Dunwoody.

Day is finishing up a stint as director of operations for the Cumberland Community Improvement District, where he oversees a more than $200 million slate of projects, many related to the Braves stadium.

Prior to that, he served as community development director for Holly Springs for six years.

Day, who holds a masters of pubic administration degree from UGA, begins work Aug. 17.
