An in-depth look at the Woodstock Police and Fire & Rescue departments is offered at the Citizens Public Safety Academy, now taking applications for the Spring 2020 session.

Classes begin Feb. 27 and will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 27-May 14.

The curriculum will include a CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter) seminar, criminal investigation procedures, crime prevention, extrication demonstration, thermal imagining camera presentation, fire safety and fire prevention. Students also will tour the Woodstock Fire Department and participate in a judgmental shooting demonstration.

The academy is open to anyone who lives, works or has an interest in Woodstock, is at least 19 years old, and submits to a background investigation.
