A 58-year-old Spalding County woman with Alzheimer's disease has been missing since the 4th of July, and relatives say they are fearful for her health and think she may be staying with someone.
Gloria Brownlee of Wilti Road in Griffin was at her home the day she disappeared. She was left alone in the house when her sister left to the store for about 20 minutes. When Brownlee's sister returned, she realized Brownlee was gone and immediately contacted law enforcement.
The missing woman was described as African-American, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a orange shirt, black pants and polka-dot socks and had pick curlers in her hair, according to the Spalding County Sheriff's Office.
Police and members of the local church searched a 5-acre area surrounding Brownlee's home without success.
Micheal Tyler, Brownlee's brother, said family members are worried about the woman's health.
"We think she was picked up by somebody or she is still out there in someone's house," he said. "She probably doesn't remember anything."
