Lisa Gonzalez and her husband -- who drew national attention when they got married at age 36 and 15, respectively -- and have reached an agreement that will allow them to see their son. The child has been in foster care since he was born more than 4 1/2 years ago.

Lisa Gonzalez, the former Lisa Clark, married the then 15-year-old Adrian Gonzalez in 2005 under a 1962 law that allowed teens younger than 16 to marry in cases of pregnancy.

Born in early 2006, their son, Skye Cobain Gonzalez, was placed with a foster family. At the time, Lisa Gonzalez was in the Hall County Jail, having pleaded guilty to statutory rape.

Since then, the couple has fought to get custody or have visitation rights.

But the foster family continued to oppose the Gonzalezes having a role in Skye’s life.

The details of the agreement reached in a Douglas County court on Tuesday were not known.

“It’s a lot better than we expected,” Gonzalez told Channel 2 Action News. “We’re very happy.”

The couple also has an 18-month-old daughter.
