Woman, 78, struck by car and killed in Cobb County

Cobb County police have released the name of an elderly woman struck by a car and killed Saturday night while trying to cross a road near Marietta.

Cobb police Sgt. Dana Pierce said Xiujuan Chen, 78, was attempting to cross Jamerson Road near the intersection of Jett Road about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when she was hit by a 1993 Buick LeSabre that was westbound on Jamerson.
