Woman shot in Midtown holdup
A 21-year-old woman was shot early Sunday during an attempted armed robbery in Midtown, Atlanta police said.
The woman underwent surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital and is in good condition, WSB-TV reported.
The incident happened at 3:25 a.m. at Williams and 8th streets, police said. Two gunmen approached a couple and demanded money. When the couple said they didn't have any, one suspect shot the woman in the stomach. Her boyfriend was not hurt.
Police released no further information.
