A woman found dead in a demolished building last weekend was identified Wednesday as 51-year-old Janice Durham of Atlanta.

She was believed to have been homeless and had gone into the abandoned building on Daniel Street to sleep. The Fulton Medical Examiner's Office said earlier this week Durham was alive when the building was demolished and she died of injuries she suffered when the house crashed down on her.

The ME classified her death as accidental.

Durham's body was found Saturday inside the house near Oakland Cemetery as workers were using a backhoe to rip up the house.

Neighbors said they heard someone cry for help and moments later they heard someone moan from underneath the debris. They said homeless people often slept in the house near Boulevard and Decatur Street, and they suspect that was why she was inside.
