A 70-year-old woman died of injuries sustained in a wreck last week in Cobb County, authorities said today.

Cobb and Powder Springs police continue to investigate the Friday crash that killed Elaine C. Foust. The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on New Macland Road north of Macedonia Road in Powder Springs, the news release said.

According to the preliminary investigation, Foust, of Powder Springs, was driving a black 1999 Dodge Neon northbound on New Macland Road when the driver of a gold 2001 Toyota Camry failed to yield while exiting a private driveway. Foust struck the Toyota on the left side, authorities said.

The driver of the Toyota, Andrew C. Polk, 19, of Powder Springs, was injured in the crash but refused treatment at the scene, police said.

Foust was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where she later died.
