A Gainesville woman was hit and killed early Tuesday while lying on an off-ramp near I-985 in Hall County, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The 30-year-old, identified as Shadondria Anyel Hunter, was lying in the left lane of an exit ramp under the Atlanta Highway overpass about 12:30 a.m. when she was hit by a Morrow woman driving south in a black Hyundai Sonata, police said.

It’s unclear why the woman was lying in the roadway.

The driver of the Hyundai was not injured in the wreck and is not facing charges.
