A woman was found shot several times in the breezeway of a Sandy Springs apartment complex late Friday, police said.

The complex, the Residences of Morgan Falls Apartments, is the same location where a fatal shooting occurred a week ago. Police, however, said there was no evidence of a connection between the two shootings.

Police spokesman Steve Rose on Saturday said Friday’s shooting occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Jefferson Drive. Witnesses said they heard several gunshots before 40-year-old Adina Parson, who lives in the apartment building, was found. She was listed in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

“The victim appears to have been shot several times in the head,” Rose said in a statement. "No motive has yet been established for the shooting."

On April 14, two people were shot, one fatally,  in the parking lot of the same  complex.

According to police, Patrick Placide, 28, was killed and his cousin Jeanlouis Willly, 28, was wounded. Police suspect the shooting resulted from a botched drug deal.

“Presently, there is no evidence to show a connection with last week’s shooting in the 1400 block of Jefferson Drive,” Rose said of the shooting Friday.
