A 62-year-old woman died Friday following a house fire in the Hidden Hills subdivision in DeKalb County.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 1900 block of Hidden Hills Parkway just before 9 a.m. A man, who had just escaped the fire, told firefighters another resident was still trapped inside, said DeKalb fire Capt. Eric Jackson.

Although smoke was pouring from the eaves and windows of the home, firefighters were able to find Brenda McCoy in the front room of the house, said Jackson. She was taken to a local hospital, but died shortly afterwards.

Officials did not identify the man, who escaped without injury.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
