A 24-year-old Ohio woman has died of injuries sustained when she was ejected from an SUV in a weekend crash, Atlanta police said Tuesday.

Arianna Thompson, of Toledo, Ohio, had been in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital since the Saturday evening crash on I-85 near the Ga. 400 exit, investigators said. She died Monday.

Police believe a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north on I-85 and attempting to change lanes when it struck a Jeep Wrangler, Officer Kim Jones with Atlanta police said. The Tahoe rolled several times before stopping against the median wall, Jones said.

Thompson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was a front-seat passenger in the Tahoe and was ejected during the crash, Jones said. She was transported to Grady shortly after the 6 p.m. accident.

The drivers of both the Tahoe and Jeep were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to police.

Charges are pending, and investigators plan to re-create the crash to learn more about what happened, Jones said.
