Police arrested a 24-year-old Athens woman when an officer saw her dart across Broad Street after midnight Saturday, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

Cars on Broad Street had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting the woman, whose friend failed get her out of the road, the newspaper reported.

Police caught up with the woman and tried to talk to her, but she smelled like alcohol, wouldn’t answer questions and constantly kept trying to undress, police said.

She faces charges of pedestrian under the influence, the newspaper reported.
