Wobbegong shark pups

The Georgia Aquarium unveiled its latest addition-- 12 spotted wobbegong shark pups.

Marj Awai, a senior biologist at the aquarium, holds a ruler near the babies. The pups' average length at birth was about 8 inches and they weighed about 3 ounces.

Awai feeds a piece of shrimp to the sharks. In the wild, the sharks also eat crabs, octopi and bony fish.

Adult male wobbegong sharks grow to about five to six feet. However some have been measured at 10 feet.

The sharks were born in the Ocean Voyager exhibit last week. They are normally found in the Pacific Ocean, particularly off the coast of Japan and Australia and in the South China Sea. Here, a shark is fed a piece of shrimp.

The sharks are fairly inactive and are often seen on the ocean floor.
