MARTA plans to operate on a normal schedule today, weather permitting.

Transit agency officials met earlier to discuss the winter storm expected to sweep into metro Atlanta this afternoon. They decided to operate on a normal schedule today, according to spokeswoman Alisa Jackson.

“Until the weather gets bad, our plans are to run our regular schedule today and tomorrow,” Jackson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution this morning.

MARTA will continue to monitor weather conditions. If any schedule changes are warranted, the agency will announce it on its web site and on its Twitter and Facebook accounts.

The National Weather Service expects the Atlanta area to get two to four inches of snow beginning this afternoon.
