Windward group honors member

The Windward Association of Retired Men presented its annual Founders Award to Travis Mills for his service to the organization and community.

Mills was instrumental in founding the Alpharetta YMCA and subsequently the creation of the YMCA Jay Levergood Teen Center. He also served on the initial Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway feasibility committee and in the development of green spaces in the Windward community. Organization members also noted his role in establishing building height restrictions along Ga. 400 and helping prevent commercial development at the five entrances to Windward.
