Whitewater Creek residents packed a contentious homeowners association meeting last week to continue debating whether the HOA can authorize the shooting of about 60 deer in the Fayette County neighborhood. Scott Fabricius, the HOA president, vowed that “it’s not going to be stopped,” but about 30 residents opposing the plan to petition for a special meeting that would allow homeowners to vote on the issue.

Chief Marshal Harold Myers said that Whitewater Creek would have to get permission from the county board of commissioners to override a ban on discharging firearms in a residential area.
