Construction work on the Whitehead Road Bridge in Sugar Hill is approaching completion. Paving work began over the past two weeks making it possible for the project to be completed soon.

The project has lengthened and widened the bridge for safer automotive travel and will now clear the flood elevation without compromising the structure. The lengthened bridge will also allow room for tsoon to be expanded greenway trail, which will pass below the bridge.

The new bridge has almost doubled the length of the former structure. Questions: dotconstruction@gwinnettcounty.com.
