Which streets will close for the 2017 AJC Peachtree Road Race (and when)

July 4, 2017The Atlanta Police Department has announced timing for AJC Peachtree Road Race street closures, some of which begin two days before the race starts.

Finish area road closures, July 2 to 4:
- 10th Street from Charles Allen Drive to Monroe Drive, July 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and 7 p.m., July 2 until 3 p.m., July 4
- 10th Street from Myrtle Street to Charles Allen Drive at 3:00 a.m., July 4
- Monroe Drive between Virginia Avenue and Kanuga Street at 6:00 a.m. until about noon, July 4
- Peachtree Place from Peachtree to West Peachtree at 8 a.m. until about noon, July 4
Start area road closures, July 4:
- Peachtree Road between Lenox Road and around Lenox Parkway at 3:00 am
All other closures around the start area will occur at 5:30 a.m., July 4:
- Peachtree Road from Lenox Road to Peachtree Dunwoody Road
- Around Lenox Road from Peachtree Road to Lenox Road
- Lenox Road from Peachtree Road to Ferncliff Road
- Buckhead Loop from Peachtree Road to Ga. 400
- Phipps Boulevard from Buckhead Loop to Wieuca Road
- Wieuca Road from Old Ivy Road to Roxboro Road
- Roxboro Road from Kingsboro Road to Peachtree Dunwoody Road
- Pritchard Road from Roxboro Road to Oak Valley Road
- Lakeside Road from Pritchard Road to Kingsboro Road
- Kingsboro Road from Roxboro Road to Lenox Road
- Oak Valley Road from Peachtree Road to E. Paces Ferry Road
Course closure, July 4:
APD will close the entire course at 6:00 a.m. Only official vehicle traffic will be permitted along the course at that time. APD and course volunteers will work with pedestrians to cross the course in the morning, but once the main start occurs at 7:30 a.m., police say that will be difficult.
