Where to recycle your Christmas tree in Milton (when the time comes)

Right now, gloriously decorated Christmas trees are looking out over living rooms everywhere.

It's hard to imagine a day will come when their services will no longer be needed.

Alas, that day will come. And for residents in the Milton area, it should probably be by Jan. 7 at the latest.

That's because Milton Grows Green — in partnership with Casey Tree Experts, the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation and Boy Scout Troop 841 — is accepting and recycling trees at locations throughout the city starting the day after Christmas.

According to Milton's Facebook page:

♦ Scottsdale Farms Garden Center, located at 15639 Birmingham Hwy, is accepting trees between Dec. 26 and Jan. 7, but is closed on New Year's Day.

♦Milton High School is accepting trees on Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Use the Freemanville Road entrance.

♦The Home Depot, at 5300 Windward Pkwy, is accepting trees on Jan. 7.

♦Email treepickup841@yahoo.com or call 770-777-2774 to request a personal tree pick up from Boy Scout Troop 841. The pick-up fee of $15 benefits the troop. Requests must be received by 8 p.m. on Jan. 5 for pick up on Jan. 7.
