Enjoy Thursday and Friday’s sunny, dry weather, because the weekend looks to be a very wet one.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton is predicting a 70 percent chance of rain Saturday and Sunday.

The National Weather Service predicted that weekend rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2 inches across parts of north Georgia.

Weekend temperatures will be cooler, with highs only in the upper 60s after reaching the low to mid-70s Thursday and Friday.

Overnight lows will be in the upper 40s and 50s through the weekend.

Wednesday afternoon’s showers, which only amounted to about a tenth of an inch or less of rain, had little effect on Atlanta’s pollen count. Thursday’s count is 724 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air, up slightly from Wednesday’s count of 672.
