A minivan was roaring with fire while parked at the pumps of a Marietta gas station Monday.

Cobb County firefighters got word of the blaze outside the Citgo at Roswell and Johnson Ferry roads about 4 p.m., said agency spokesman Lt. Dan Dupree.

The flames were extinguished in about 10 minutes. The fire did not spread to the pumps.

No one was injured, he said.

When asked how the fire started, Dupree said that isn’t clear, but it wasn’t suspicious.

“Car fires are by nature very hard to determine an exact cause, usually it’s a mechanical problem,” he said.
