A new Walmart Neighborhood Market, about a third of the size of the company’s “supercenters,” opens Wednesday on Covington Highway just outside Lithonia.

A ribbon cutting will be held at 7:30 a.m. at the store, a 24-hour operation which features most groceries and health needs. The opening creates about 95 jobs for the area and is just the second smaller Walmart “market” to open in DeKalb. The first opened in June in Tucker.
