Some of the best places in Georgia to watch your children have their first steps are in Cobb County according to one ranking.

Six Cobb cities and neighborhoods were named "Best Places to Raise a Family in Georgia" according to WalletHub, which makes lists from credit and consumer data.

The list breaks down 21 metrics for the 100 Georgia cities into four categories: family life and fun; education, health & safety; affordability; socioeconomics. Learn about the methodology.

Here are Cobb's happy hamlets :

» Kennesaw, No. 15

» Smyrna, No. 29

» Powder Springs, No. 32

» Vinings, No. 43

» Marietta, No. 45

» Mableton, No. 63

Digging into the data, Marietta came in at the fifth spot in the "attractions" category.

Vinings had the lowest percentage of families below the poverty line of anywhere in the state.
