The Henry County Board of Commissioners were informed by McDonough officials of an annexation request for 1148 Hwy. 20/81, which is the existing Waffle House on the northeast corner of the I-75 interchange at Exit 218.

It sits adjacent to the former site of the Ruby Tuesday restaurant. County officials said the Waffle House site was always intended to be annexed along with a number of other parcels in that retail corridor which were annexed successfully in the past, and this move is a “clean-up” item to keep the properties consistent. The proposed zoning in the city is the same as it currently is in the county.

The commissioners took no action to suggest any objections to the move.
