At Peachtree Corner’s first municipal election last week, voters overwhelmingly approved a referendum to allow package sales within city limits. The unofficial count had 1,394 votes in favor and 493 opposed.

The referendum is the result of a request to open a liquor store within city limits. The applicant had obtain enough signatures to place the item on the November ballot for consideration. State law requires citizens to choose whether to permit the sale of distilled spirits within its city limits.
