The Cherokee County Search and Rescue Team is looking to recruit new members.

The team is an all-volunteer force, which operates under the Special Operations Section of Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services. It’s made up of local firefighters and private citizens and is designed to help sheriff’s office and firefighting personnel look for missing, lost or injured people. Team members get specialized training in both urban and wilderness search and rescue procedures.
