Decatur Green Fest will kick off the city’s Concerts on the Square early next month, with a focus on the environmental push to protect and restore endangered forests.

The festival will be held on May 1. But volunteers who want to help with the event can still sign up by contacting director John Beal at johnthebaker@yahoo.com.

The festival features on-going music beginning at 3 p.m., and featuring children’s activities, information booths and with organic and fair trade food vendors.

The Concert on the Square, featuring the Vigilantes of Love, begins at 7 p.m. at the community bandstand. For more information about other upcoming concerts, visit www.decaturdba.com.
