Dramatic surveillance video obtained by Channel 2 Action News shows a Gwinnett County gas station clerk warding off a rifle-toting robber last week.

During the incident, the masked woman walked into the Texaco station on Singleton Road, demanded cigarettes and pointed her gun at the clerk, Channel 2 reported. But the clerk, Zazur Petiwala, didn’t back down.

“She told me if I’m not selling her the cigarettes, 'I will shoot you,'” Petiwala told Channel 2. “I told her, ‘For cigarettes you want to shoot me? We also have a gun in our store.’”

Petiwala reached for his own weapon and the woman slowly backed out of the store.

Police were called but the would-be robber escaped and has not been found.

Petiwala was unharmed.

“We work in a gas station,” he told Channel 2, “so we have to be prepared for that because anything can happen at any time.”
