Stockbridge Mayor Tim Thompson reiterated at Monday’s City Council meeting his displeasure with the council’s vote to increase its pay, and he asked the city attorney to determine if he could legally designate his raise for a local nonprofit or return it to the city’s general fund.

The pay raise vote took place at a meeting when Thompson was out of town on vacation, and the city attorney advised that Mayor Pro Tem Alphonso Thomas legally fulfilled the mayoral duties in his absence so a veto was not possible.
