An administrative variance request was presented to the McDonough City Council at its June 15 regular meeting regarding two lots in the Arnold Estates subdivision in the McGarity Road corridor. The request involved proposed reductions in rear yard setbacks from 40 to 36 feet on one lot and 30 to 27 feet on another lot.

Both are within the 10-percent reduction threshold provided for in the city’s code. Community development director Rodney Heard noted that no vote from the council was needed for approval and, absent a council veto, the approval would be formalized and the applicant notified immediately.
