An estimated 11,200-gallon sewage spill into a tributary of South River was caused by a vandal, DeKalb County authorities said.

The spill was reported around 11:30 a.m. Monday on Salem Springs Court, Lithonia, according to a report.

“Someone vandalized Lift Station #36 Salem Road by cutting the power,” the report said. The overflowing nearby sewer was contained using a vacuum truck.

Further information wasn’t released.
