Southeast Capital representatives gave an update Tuesday to Smyrna city officials on Smyrna Grove, a new single-family housing development taking the place of Hickory Grove Apartments.

The first house closing has been completed for the nearly 200-house development at 519 Windy Hill Road being built by both Southeast Capital Companies and HomeSouth Communities.

There also are 14 contracts with nine received in the last four weeks.

In the $300,000 and $400,000 range, the houses have three to four bedrooms and at least three bathrooms in the gated community with a 1.5-acre lake, several pocket parks and a pool.
