University System to grow online programs

The University System of Georgia is looking to expand distance education programs and created a new position to direct online learning. Jon Sizemore oversees these programs at Valdosta State University and will serve as interim assistant vice chancellor for distance education, system officials announced this week. Students can already take 3,525 courses online and the system's 35 colleges offer more than 210 online degree programs.
