Celebrate veterans this weekend with the annual Old Soldiers Day Race and Parade. Start the day with an 8K road race at 7 a.m., followed by a full program featuring a band, memorial service and parade. Enjoy free hot dogs and soda courtesy of the American Legion Post 201.

Prepare to get drenched on Sunday at Chattahoochee Nature Center's Water Day. With sprinklers, water games and water-themed crafts, Water Day offers sopping-wet fun for the whole family. Just make sure you bring a towel.

Honor the memory of Jamie McHenry while raising money for local scholarships at the 2016 Rocketshot 5K. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, but make sure to register soon -- only 500 racing tickets will be sold.
