Union City looks to address road safety issues

The council will discuss what equipment will be purchased for $143,340.
Union City Council will consider an agreement about improvements to a nearby bridge during the meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Union City Hall, 5047 Union St. The agreement is with the Georgia Department of Transportation to provide lighting services for the State Road 138 Bridge Replacement Project.
Another agenda item is to discuss approving a contract with Safety Signal, Inc. to provide street signal equipment to the city for $143,340. The council will also address reappointing city councilman Brian Jones for the Water and Sewer Advisory Board and Police Chief Cassandra Jones to the Jail Authority Board. Both terms will end on Dec. 31.
