Union City considers annexing five acres

The Union City Council will discuss the annexation of nearly five acres of property during its regular meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday at Union City Hall, 5047 Union Street. The property is located at 4910 through 4950 Derrick Road.

In addition to a public hearing to discuss the annexation, there will be consideration of an alcoholic beverage license application, submitted by Asfiya Ahmed, for package sales of liquor for the Exxon gas station and convenience store at 6687 Roosevelt Highway.

The council will also discuss amendments to two city ordinances, incorrect sewer charges for septic tank sewer adjustments, which was deferred for 30 days during the April 19 meeting, and approval of a proposed transportation project list.
