A clinic offering free health care to the uninsured will set up this weekend in College Park.
Kaiser Permanente is providing the financial and medical support for the first Atlanta Communities Are Responding Everyday, or CARE, clinic.
The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park. It is organized by the National Association of Free Clnics and Georgia Free Clinic Network.
Organizers expect to serve more than 1,000 uninsured residents during the session. Patients who register will receive primary care and OB/GYN screenings during the clinic.
To register, call 877-233-5159. Appointments are strongly encouraged, as only a limited number of walk-in clients will be served.
The clinic is free for any area residents who does not have health insurance. Recipients of Medicare, Medicaid or Veterans Administration benefits are not eligible.
