A Gator is about to become a Bulldog.

Alan Dorsey, an associate dean at the University of Florida, will start as a dean at the University of Georgia July 1, college officials announced Monday.

Dorsey, a theoretical physicist, will lead the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, which is the largest and oldest college at UGA.

The previous Franklin dean, Garnett Stokes, left last year to become provost at Florida State University.
