Braselton Mayor Bill Orr and District 2 Councilwoman Peggy Slappey qualified for re-election unopposed. However, one new face will join the Braselton Town Council in January following the Nov. 7 municipal election. Two residents qualified for the District 4 open seat after incumbent Councilwoman Rhonda Stites chose not to seek another term. Robert Clark and Hardy Johnson will compete for the town council seat.

The mayor and town council members serve four-year terms staggered every two years. The deadline for town residents to register to vote in this election is 5 p.m. Oct. 10.
