Two Canton men have surrendered to Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies in connection with a pair of weekend stabbing incidents in that city.
Richard Sheriff, 61, turned himself in Wednesday night at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center and faces aggravated assault charges in the Saturday morning attack on Claudia Santizo, 45.
She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening arm and neck injuries after the incident on York Drive.
Brian Miller, 28, surrendered Wednesday afternoon in connection with the Saturday evening stabbing attack on Brandal Byrd, 43, on Waleska Road. Byrd was treated for wounds to his head, back and abdomen.
He’s also in custody on aggravated assault charges.
