Two railroad workers were slightly injured overnight when a locomotive derailed at a Bartow County power plant.

The CSX engine ran off the tracks late Tuesday night after unloading coal at Georgia Power’s Plant Bowen, off Rockmart Highway in the Euharlee community.

Channel 2 Action News reported that two people on the train were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

In April, the plant was rocked by an explosion that was strong enough to rattle windows miles away, but no serious injuries were reported in that incident.
