July 5, 2011An anonymous tipster informed Alpharetta police Monday of a most unlikely discovery in a Main Street parking lot: two fully loaded guns.
Officers found the Colt .380 and Kimber .45 behind a Bank of America branch in an area police say is frequented by children. The weapons will be hard to track as they had not been reported stolen or missing, Alpharetta police spokesman George Gordon said.
The Kimber .45, an expensive collector's item, was a particularly surprising discovery, Gordon said.
