Two killed in Lawrenceville head-on collision

Two drivers were killed early Monday in a head-on collision in Lawrenceville, police said.

The crash happened about 5 a.m. Monday on Old Norcross Road at Hillandale Road.

Lawrenceville police Sgt. Christopher Ralston told the AJC that witness statements and evidence at the scene suggested that the female driver of a Volvo that was eastbound on Old Norcross Road crossed the median and struck an oncoming Hyundai head-on.

The Volvo driver and the male driver of the Hyundai were both killed. Their identities have not been released.

“We’re taking measurements to determine the speed,” Ralston said. “It’s going to be a couple of days before we know if any alcohol or anything played a role in it.”
