State School Superintendent Richard Woods recently announced his newest group of students from across the state to serve on his Student Advisory Council. Two of the 110 students selected are from the Henry County School System: Kelsey Snell, a seventh-grade student from Union Grove Middle School; and Andrea Augustine, an 11th-grade student from Eagle’s Landing High School. They were selected from an applicant pool of more than 1,500 students. The advisory council will meet six times during the current school year with middle school student representatives and high school student representatives each meeting three times. They will have the opportunity to discuss various matters with Superintendent Woods, including the impact of state policies in the classroom. The students will also serve as ambassadors for Woods in their respective schools.
